Court Won't End Confusion in Guidelines for Sentencing
WASHINGTON - Despite pleas from both defense attorneys and federal and state prosecutors, the Supreme Court on Monday declined to consider the last major unanswered question remaining from its revolutionary 1998 decision increasing the role of juries in sentencing.
