Challenge to LA's street vending restrictions scheduled for trial April 4
The plaintiffs argue that an amendment to the “no vending” ordinance, which goes into effect two days before trial, did not address all issues, particularly the buffer zones that prohibit vendors from operating within 500 feet of schools, farmers’ markets, and swap meets, as well as the citations issued to vendors operating in restricted areas.
A lawsuit challenging street vending restrictions in Los Angeles is set to go to trial on April 4 although an amendment to a city ordinance removing the “no vending” zones at issue goes into effect on April 2.
