After 36 years as executive director of Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, Betty L. Nordwind retired.
Stacy Horth-Neubert joined the Buhai Center as executive director in December. The nonprofit said Horth-Neubert’s background in pro bono legal service and equal justice advocacy positions her well to continue the Buhai Center’s mission of providing free family law services to those in need in Los Angeles.
“Her strengths — natural leadership, an affinity for collaboration, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for public speaking — are the very attributes that make Stacy the ideal person to carry Betty’s torch. Her strategic approach and her determination reflect our collective aspirations for growth and increased outreach,” Board President Serine Tsuda said in a statement posted to the organization’s website.
Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles are co-founding entities of Buhai Center, along with Mablean Ephriam and Patsy Ostroy.
