States Lose to Banks at Supreme Court

WASHINGTON - The banking industry and the federal government prevailed over all 50 states and consumer groups in a closely watched U.S. Supreme Court ruling Tuesday that barred the states from regulating the operating subsidiaries of national banks, including mortgage lenders.
