Submit a Column

Publishing a column in the Daily Journal is an excellent way to argue a point or explain an issue for a broad section of California lawyers. Columns run in the Los Angeles and San Francisco editions and on www.DailyJournal.com. Links to select columns are emailed weekly to our extensive list of in-house counsel readers. Topics covered by columns include recent state and federal court decisions, legislation, and regulations, the legal impact of current events, and other issues relevant to our audience of California attorneys and judges.

Column Guidelines

  • 700 to 1,000 words
  • Original content exclusive to the Daily Journal
  • Authors must be practicing California attorneys (exceptions made on case-by-case basis)
  • Do not write about matters in which you are involved
