Where's the Outrage as AT&T Dodges Pregnancy Payment?
As I sleepily read The New York Times over my morning coffee two weeks ago, I was startled into wakefulness by a passionate editorial urging the Georgia Legislature to remedy a shameful remnant of the past. Black police officer retirees, who had been excluded from a state-backed supplemental retirement fund on the basis of race in the 1950s, '60s and '70s, receive significantly lower pension benefits than white police officers.
