Hearing Pleas of the Voiceless

The topics likely to get the most attention from Gov. Davis and the media, even as his short list of candidates to replace Justice Stanley Mosk are being considered, are the death penalty, toughness on crime and politics. But the California Supreme Court and, for that matter, the people of California, will be best served if they examine each candidate's compassion for the underdog, as exhibited by Mosk himself.
