Rejection of Case Casts Shadow on Use of Informants
Convicted felons should not testify for prosecutors in criminal trials. According to plaintiffs' attorney Daniel Rodriguez, that's the message a Los Angeles Superior Court jury sent last week when it decided negligence by Los Angeles County did not cause the death of a woman whose son was a police informant. The same jury said the city of Compton was negligent in the woman's death but did not cause emotional distress to her son.
