Judge Won't Dismiss Cigarette Makers from Suit

Rejecting an argument that federal law supersedes state law, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied a request Thursday by five cigarette manufacturers to be dismissed from a lawsuit filed by City Attorney James K. Hahn over the dangers of secondhand smoke.
