Workers' Wage Claims May Be Taken to Court
SAN FRANCISCO - In a victory for thousands of union workers at the Albertson's grocery chain, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday employees do not surrender the right to assert wage-and-hour claims in court simply because the same rights are covered by arbitration provisions of the union contract.
