Court: Policyholders Have to Prove Exceptions
SAN FRANCISCO - In a significant victory for insurers, the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a policyholder -- not the insurance company -- bears the burden of proving that its claim falls within an exception to an insurer's laundry list of claims that are not covered by the policy.
