Both sides assess next step in anti-piracy bill battle

Both sides of the battle over anti-piracy legislation are assessing where they stand after the Senate Majority Leader dropped plans for a vote to cut off debate and the House Judiciary Committee Chair postponed action on a companion bill.

Fenwick & West LLP partner Andrew P. Bridges remembers the moment when the tide started to shift on legislation that would make it easier for content holders to squelch websites that host infringing material.


"I was in [Congressional] offices in Washington watching telephones exhaust the staffs," said Bridges, a vocal critic of the bill. "I think it's been remarkable."
