PETA, others ask that 13th Amendment apply to whales

In 1967, civil rights attorney Philip J. Hirschkop won the landmark case that declared unconstitutional laws banning interracial marriage. Now he has joined PETA in fighting for a 13th Amendment right of orcas.

In 1967, civil rights attorney Philip J. Hirschkop won the landmark Loving v. Virginia case, which declared unconstitutional laws banning interracial marriage. Now he has joined People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in fighting for a 13th Amendment right of orcas, known as killer whales, to be free of captivity.
