Proposed budget leaves court's alone if taxes pass

SACRAMENTO - Gov. Jerry Brown's proposed budget released Thursday fell short of restoring funding to the judiciary's raided coffers, but did offer a temporary reprieve from further budget cuts.


Under Brown's proposal, trial courts could boost their 2012-2013 coffers $50 million by raising civil filing fees. But even with that alternative funding, the judiciary remains under the threat of $1...
