Defense attorneys say clients benefitted from bar's efforts to reduce backlog

Getting rid of the State Bar's backlog of old discipline cases took commitment and hard work, according to the chief prosecutor. Defense lawyers say it took good deals.

SANTA ANA - The State Bar's top prosecutor and attorneys who defend lawyers charged with misconduct agree the bar has finally smashed its decades-old backlog of discipline cases. They just don't agree entirely on how.
