Sex Offenders Have No Excuse for Not Registering
SAN FRANCISCO - "I forgot" is not a defense for failing to register as a sex offender, the California Supreme Court ruled Monday. By a 6-1 vote, the high court held that defendants charged with willfully evading their annual obligation to re-register with police cannot avoid a felony conviction by blaming it on a faulty memory.
