Court rules on water releases for Klamath River salmon

In fight with Central Valley farmers, judge rules that government met environmental standards in providing water for struggling salmon but it failed to show its legal authority to take such steps.

A Fresno judge has ruled that federal officials did not violate environmental laws when releasing water from behind the Lewiston Dam to protect salmon struggling for survival in the Klamath River, but the court also found that the government did not cite any legal authority to support its move.
