A move to rewrite rules on how presiding judges discipline state court commissioners and referees has some worried their due process rights could be curbed.


A proposal from the committee of presiding judges that advises the state Judicial Council is aimed at simplifying steps in investigating and disciplining "subordinate judicial officers."
