The state Senate on Wednesday passed a bill in response to a state Supreme Court decision last year that limited reimbursement to plaintiffs in personal injury cases.
Senate President Pro Tem Darrell S. Steinberg introduced the bill, SB 1528, which was sponsored by Consumer Attorneys of California, the plaintiffs' bar's lobbying group in Sacramento. The bill passed by a 22-13 vote and will now head to the state Assembly....
