Securities Claim Was Too Easily Dismissed, 9th Circuit Rules

Plaintiffs trying to sue companies for securities fraud scored a win Thursday at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Despite the barriers Congress erected when it passed the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act, investors who lost money on Applied Signal Technology Inc. stock can proceed with their putative class action, a unanimous panel ruled.
