In recent years, the illegal prescription drug problem has unequivocally reached epidemic proportions in California. In 2011 alone, 2.7 billion pills or liquid doses containing Schedule II (i.e., oxycodone, morphine, codeine) through Schedule IV drugs (i.e., Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, Xanax) were prescribed in California.
