NCAA beefs up counsel in student-athletes' suit

The NCAA added a team of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP attorneys to its counsel in a suit brought by former student-athletes, just a day after co-defendant Electronic Arts Inc. reached a $40 million settlement in the case.

The NCAA last week brought on a team of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP litigators as counsel on a lawsuit centering on whether student-athletes should be paid for the use of their likenesses in video games. The move could indicate the NCAA - the only remaining defendant since two others settled last week - is serious about taking the case to trial.
