Setback for plaintiffs in bellwether Toyota acceleration trial

LOS ANGELES - Days away from handing a bellwether Toyota unintended acceleration lawsuit to a jury, Judge Lee Smalley Edmon on Thursday dealt a blow to plaintiffs by tentatively ruling they cannot ask jurors to apply a consumer expectations test to their design defect claim.
