San Francisco Agrees to Allow Firearms in Public Housing

An agreement to settle a suit filed by the National Rifle Association was filed Monday in federal court.

SAN FRANCISCO - As expected, the San Francisco Housing Authority has agreed to remove a blanket ban on firearms in its lease agreement, according to a settlement filed Monday in federal court.

In 2005, the local public housing agency, which serves 33,000 people, amended its lease to prohibit residents from possessing firearms or ammunition in their homes.
