Disabled Fight Sidewalk Obstacles in their Path in California Courts

After decades of fruitless letter-writing campaigns and public hearings, a Los Angeles man became lead plaintiff in an ongoing federal suit against the California Department of Transportation over the 2,500 miles of state sidewalks that are in such disrepair that disabled citizens say they cannot traverse them. He is also a proposed class member in a second suit recently launched against the city of Los Angeles in state court.
