To most of us in the media, the courthouse is just a place we rush through on the way to some big story or celebrity circus.
Lawyers have to focus on their cases; they can't afford to spend time soaking up the atmosphere, even if they wanted to. We rarely pause to observe the anxious families waiting on benches, or jurors doing their best to survive the tedium.
