Preparing for the Future in Spite of the Odds

While other U.S. attorneys across the nation are tendering their resignations in anticipation of President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration next month, U.S. Attorney Joseph P. Russoniello is hard at work on a strategic plan for his San Francisco office. Russoniello wants to stick around. And even if he is shown the door, he said he hopes his plan will remain in place.

SAN FRANCISCO - A few weeks ago, when U.S. Attorney Joseph P. Russoniello was on his way to make a speech in Monterey, he stopped in Hollister to meet with the San Benito County district attorney.

After the speech, he met with the chief of police in Salinas. Then he met with the district attorney in Monterey County, and, finally, before heading home, he stopped in to see the police chief in Watsonville. ...
