State Bar looking into attorney's anti-gay ballot initiative

An initiative mandating the execution of gays and lesbians is being reviewed by the state Attorney General's office and has activists pushing the State Bar to expel the author, an Orange County-based attorney.

The State Bar is still determining how it will address an inflammatory ballot proposal drafted by Huntington Beach attorney Matthew Gregory McLaughlin that calls for the execution of gays, but some legal experts say punitive action is unlikely.
