State Revamps Numbering, Language of Discovery Act

On July 1, the California Civil Discovery Act - Code of Civil Procedure Sections 2016 through 2036 - is getting a facelift, thanks to the California Law Revision Commission. This legislation may appear to be an extreme makeover. The changes will be only cosmetic, however, not substantive. By late 2006, there will be a similar stylistic change to most of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, at www.uscourts.gov/rules/newrules1.html.
