State Bar continues effort to combat unauthorized practitioners

Although Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would have expanded its power, the State Bar will nevertheless launch a special unit to stop nonlawyers engaged in the unauthorized practice of law.

Despite a surprise veto of legislation to expand its power, the State Bar will go ahead with plans to set up a special unit to pursue nonlawyers engaged in the unauthorized practice of law.
