Few exceptions to city medical marijuana law

Regulation of approximately 1,000-plus medical marijuana dispensaries in the city of Los Angeles was put to the voters in the May 21 municipal election. Proposition D was overwhelmingly passed with 62 percent of the vote, and became effective June 20.
