Black Santa Suffered No Bias, Jury Says

SAN DIEGO - An oceanfront hotel did not discriminate against a black Santa Claus, a Superior Court jury decided Friday. On a 9-3 vote, the jury of seven women and five men decided that the Catamaran Resort Hotel in the Mission Beach area of San Diego did not violate the Unruh Civil Rights Act, which requires commercial enterprises to accommodate everyone equally.
