Recent history casts doubt on whether bill to increase family law judges will be implemented

On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed a bill that would allow the courts to convert up to 10 subordinate juridical office positions to judgeships during the 2017-18 fiscal year, provided the new judges are assigned to family law or juvenile court.

SACRAMENTO — The California Senate Judiciary Committee passed a bill on Tuesday that would allow the courts to convert up to 10 subordinate juridical office positions to judgeships during the 2017-18 fiscal year, provided the new judges are assigned to family law or juvenile court.
