House/Senate Committees Pass Bankruptcy Reform
The Judiciary Committees of the House and Senate have approved their versions of the sweeping bankruptcy reform legislation that have been in the works since early in the 105th Congress. The House Judiciary Committee passed its bill (H.R. 833) 22-13; the Senate Judiciary Committee passets its bill (S. 625) 14-4. Both Committes hope to send the legislation to the floor of their respective branches soon.
