U.S. Attorneys Overspent on Travel

The U.S. Justice Department has released an audit of travel expenses that found five former U.S. Attorneys, including former Los Angeles U.S. Attorney Thomas O'Brien, overspent on trips.

The U.S. Justice Department's Office of the Inspector General has released a sweeping audit of officials' travel expenses that found five former U.S. attorneys, including Thomas O'Brien from Los Angeles, overspent on trips.


According to the report, O'Brien exceeded the allowable per diem expenses on nine separate trips between 2007 to 2009, totaling for $903.
