Arizona Defends Immigration Law

Lawyers for the State of Arizona tried to persuade a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel to permit enforcement of the state's immigration law.

SAN FRANCISCO - Lawyers for the State of Arizona tried here on Monday to persuade a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel to permit enforcement of the state's controversial new immigration law.


A trial court's injunction halting implementation of the law was at issue in the oral argument. U.S. v. Arizona, 10-16645.
