Black Women Lawyers League Honors Legal Leaders
The Black Women Lawyers Association celebrated its 35th annual Installation and Awards Dinner Sept. 30 at the Marriott in downtown Los Angeles. Superior Court Judge Maguerite D. Downing acted as mistress of ceremonies, honoring members of the legal community for their contributions to the field. Honorees included Robert Brown Jr., president of the University of West Los Angeles School of Law; Judy Johnson, executive director of the State Bar, and West Los Angeles attorney Thomas A. Mesereau Jr. of the Mesereau Free Legal Clinic
