A Mentor and an Innovator

AUBURN - Virtually everyone who has come into contact with Placer County Superior Court Judge Richard Couzens has a good word to say about him. The 59-year-old jurist has served as judge here for 26 years and is as venerated by the tiny community as the Gold Rush artifacts housed in the county's 109-year-old courthouse.
