Bill to Restrict Facial Scanning Defeated, but Will Be Back
SACRAMENTO - As fans poured into this year's Super Bowl, police in Tampa, Fla., secretly scanned the faces of the game's 100,000 attendees. Then, while the game was under way, they checked the results against state and federal databases of known criminals, making 19 matches but no arrests.
