State Integrates Lockups Following Inmate's Win at High Court

This month, California will begin implementing a statewide plan to desegregate housing at some 30 prisons. The move is part of a settlement reached after an inmate persuaded the U.S. Supreme Court the state's policy of separating prisoners by race was unconstitutional.
