Adviser to chief justices discusses 33 years on the court

Beth Jay served as principal attorney to three Republican state Supreme Court chief justices. In December, after 33 years, she retired and shared her thoughts on the future of the branch with Daily Journal Staff Writer Emily Green.


Beth Jay grew up in New York City in the Bronx near Yankee Stadium. At 20, she graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The furthest west she had traveled was Pittsburgh.
