Appellate court rules in favor of client notification over bar disciplinary charges
An attorney who failed to notify his firm's clients that his partner had resigned from the California State Bar with disciplinary charges pending against him can be held liable, an appellate court ruled Thursday.

An attorney who failed to notify his firm's clients that his partner had resigned from the California State Bar with disciplinary charges pending against him can be held liable, an appellate court ruled Thursday.
The decision by the 1st District Court of Appeal, Division 2, clarifies that individual attorneys can be held accountable for aiding and abetting unlicensed lawyers in the practice of law.
