Experts anticipate that the slightest upward shift in the economy will effect disproportionate change in the hospitality industry, and the Internet may speed the recovery.

Since the hospitality industry's slump began in 2001, many in the industry have blamed Internet listing services. People point to the drop in revenues, reflected in the 45 percent drop in new hotel construction this year.
