Semiconductor company must pay competitor more than $8.4 million in fees

Semiconductor company O2 Micro International Ltd. must pay rival Monolithic Power Systems Inc. more than $8.4 million in legal fees, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled Tuesday.

A semiconductor producer must pay rival San Jose-based Monolithic Power Systems Inc. more than $8.4 million, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled Tuesday, affirming a lower court's highly unusual granting of legal fees in a patent infringement suit.
