Retired California Supreme Court Justice William P. Clark Jr. died Saturday at the age of 81 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Clark was appointed by Gov. Ronald Reagan in 1973 and served on the court until 1981, when Reagan brought him to Washington, D.C. as his deputy secretary of state. Clark famously passed the bar without earning a law degree.
