Three firms help with $1.6 billion Dole deal

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Paul Hastings LLP worked on the deal, which comes a decade after Murdock took the company private for $2.5 billion in 2003.

Southern California lawyers from a trio of firms worked on Dole Food Co. Inc. chairman and CEO David H. Murdock's sweetened agreement to pay shareholders $13.50 a share for the approximately 60 percent of shares he or his family doesn't already own in the company, a deal valued at $1.6 billion including debt.
