Wells Fargo must face homeowner class actions, 9th Circuit rules

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Thursday ruled that Wells Fargo Bank's dealings with homeowners following the 2008 housing crunch can be the subject of suits by those who tried but failed to get mortgage modifications.

In an opinion that could broadly expose banks to class actions by borrowers, a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Thursday ruled that Wells Fargo Bank's dealings with homeowners following the 2008 housing crunch can be the subject of suits by those who tried but failed to get mortgage modifications.
