Superior courts effectively endorse mediation

I heard about the funding cuts to the superior court but had not been in the downtown Los Angeles court house for many years until recently. I attended a hearing in a pending civil matter that had been transferred downtown from the Santa Monica court. My destination courtroom was home to three judges who rotated its use with the same staff. The staff cuts had created the need for one set of staff members to serve three judges.
