State Senate leader says CEQA reform going forward

Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg responds to skepticism that proposed reforms to the landmark California Environmental Quality Act won't pass this session.

California Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg on Wednesday defended his effort to reform the state's landmark California Environmental Quality Act, after Speaker of the Assembly John Perez said Monday that such a bill wouldn't pass this session.


"I can tell you that with regard to CEQA, that I'm in the midst of intensive discussions with the stakeholders," Steinberg said.
