Rejecting Smart Growth

If we don't go beyond smart growth, our children will see the return of slums, an increasing imbalance between the haves and have-nots and the hampering of economic growth.

I believe this to be the case, despite the optimistic explanations put forward by urban planners. The truth is, smart growth is just the latest in a long line of market-constraining theories that result in more harm than good to our cities.
